Treasured Possessions

Good Morning Beauties!

I love the word Treasured! It’s been very important in my discovery of who I am in Christ. It is a word He has given me as my name, Segullah. (Hebrew for treasured possession)

Treasured is a beautiful word rarely used these days, and I’ve found there is blessing in its duality of both noun and verb forms.  The noun means, "a quantity of precious metals, gems, or other valuable objects." The verb means, "keep carefully (a valuable or valued item.)"  So, let me ask you, do you feel like a precious valuable person to God, whom He carefully keeps for Himself?  Selah.

If you have or had an adoring Earthly Father, this picture of being treasured, will not be difficult to imagine. If your Father, here on earth, had difficulty expressing his love and appreciation for you, then it's much harder to accept that God, your Abba Father, loves you in such a beautiful way.

Do you need help accepting the Truth that you ARE treasured by your Heavenly Father?  Take a moment to pray for that knowledge to drop from your head to your heart today.  Selah.

When we look at the word possession, it means, “the state of having, owning, or controlling something.” How do you feel knowing you belong to God? Is it easy to give up control to God, to truly hand over your life to Him? Is there any hesitation? Selah.

No Fear

Good Afternoon Beauties!

“God is love. When we take up permanent residence in a life of love, we live in God and God lives in us. This way, love has the run of the house, becomes at home and mature in us, so that we’re free of worry on Judgment Day—our standing in the world is identical with Christ’s. There is no room in love for fear. Well-formed love banishes fear. Since fear is crippling, a fearful life—fear of death, fear of judgment—is one not yet fully formed in love.” 1 John 4:17-18 The Message Bible

Living as a Child of Love means we can walk in complete freedom of God’s wrath and disappointment. Do you feel pressure to please God? Please others? What will happen if you don’t meet the expectations of others, or even yourself? Is there any element of fear? Selah.

The enemy is still at work if we are living in fear - even a little. Today, spend time with God and let Him reveal those fearful places so He can replace that fear with His love. When you do, you will live each day in pure freedom, knowing the King of the Universe loves you. Look at His promise, “My heart will not fear even if an army rises to attack. I will not be shaken, even if war is imminent.” Psalm 27:3 The Passion Translation

Good Morning Beauties!

Can you think of a better title than "Child of God"? I can't. As we enter this last 5 days of our journey, did you notice the song crescendos? It’s the most important attribute of who we truly are...Children of God. That’s something to shout about!

Look at the 1 John 3:1 verse at the bottom of the page. What word stands out to you? I love the word "lavished." God is not stingy with His love. He is extravagant in His love for us. He pours generous portions of His love into our hearts. Quite frankly, all the love we've ever wanted or needed.....it's even MORE than that!

What stands out to you? What does God want to say to you about that word today? Be still and listen. Open up your heart and be ready for the treasure He has for you. Selah.

Good Morning Beauties!

As we wrap up our attribute of Purity, I encourage you to take a look at the connection between our Purity and our Intimacy with God.  That's what this journey experience is all about - growing deeper in our relationship with Him.

I've found a beautiful study about this very subject, and think it's a nice way to conclude our time learning about Purity.  Grab your Bible and internet device, and open your heart for God's glorious Truth....

Refiner’s Fire
Photo by Maxim Tajer on Unsplash

Good Morning Beauties!

Have you heard the term, "Refiner's fire"?  It refers to God using difficult circumstances in our life (the fire) to refine us like gold...pure gold.  The process requires intense heat to remove the impurities.  Do you know this process?  Take time to journal what you've learned from seasons of "heat" in your life.

Let me encourage you with Truth.  God will not abandon you to the flames.  He is right there beside you, praying for you, rooting you on to victory.  He wants you to win!  "And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will Himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you." 1 Peter 5:10

The purification process isn't easy, in fact it's difficult.  God asks us to die to ourselves so He can increase.  Die to pride, bitterness, selfishness, and the list goes on.  Filling up with His love, grace, mercy, kindness, peace, joy....then we will be the vessels He can use mightily in the world.  What do you need to burn today in order to make room for more of Him?  Selah.

Perfect Judgement

Good Morning Beauties!

Perfection - if we look at this word from a worldly perspective, it can be a curse. Trying to live up to others’ expectations, or perhaps our own. Striving to be perfect, without flaw. It can’t be done…stop trying precious one. Let that truth set you free today. Selah.

When looking at this word from God’s point of view, it suddenly becomes something that adds to our beauty. Because of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, He reconciled us to the Father, and our Abba sees us as spotless, blameless, and perfect.

I read a devotion today that I pray will help to bring these truths into your heart…
”God, You are the only judge. Remind me of this as I am sinking under the weight of the opinions of others. Whether I’m being misunderstood or whether the assessment is accurate, remind me it is irrelevant. Only You get to decide who I am. Only You know my heart, Lord, and only You can change it. Help me to leave all my judgement with You.” (Prayers & Promises for Women)

Good Morning Beauties!

Light is important to God! In Genesis 1:3, God created light on day one! It was His priority. Later, we read a beautiful description of Jesus. “Eternal life is in him, and this life gives light to all mankind. His life is the light that shines through the darkness—and the darkness can never extinguish it.” John 1:4-5, The Living Bible

We were never meant to live in darkness, and our precious Savior restored the light back to us! Sin had caused us to live in darkness unto death, but Jesus came to give us abundant life by defeating death and eternal damnation for all who believe in Him. Our new life and light comes from the Spirit living within us. Hallelujah!

How is your light shining? Dim? 50% wattage? Full on “high beams”? Do you need God to come and bring His light to some dark places? Are you ready? Are you willing? Selah.

Beauties, the world needs you and your shining light to illuminate this dark world. People are perishing everyday, and God is counting on you to share His light. The harvest is here, but the workers are few. I’m praying with you for God to breakthrough any darkness in your life, so you can be that beacon on the hill for Christ.

“Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in his holy place? The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not trust in an idol or swear by a false god. They will receive blessing from the Lord and vindication from God their Savior.” Psalm 24:3-5 New International Version

The Father sees you as pure and Holy, through the atoning blood of Christ. Do you see yourself as pure and Holy? Most of us would say, “of course not!” Though each of us, in Christ, is a Saint who sins, we need to understand and have a healthy view of our purity.

Are you struggling today with the idea of your purity? Are you finding it hard to believe? What are you believing instead? Selah.

Good Morning Beauties!

You are still here, faithful to your journey with Jesus. How is it you are still here when many have already fallen away? You are determined to grow closer in your relationship to Him, and you persevere to ensure you receive all God has for you.

“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” Matthew 7:13-14 NIV

You have chosen the narrow gate, and that, my dear friend, is BEAUTIFUL!

As we begin the final 10 days tomorrow, I ask you to pray wholeheartedly for deep revelation from God. I ask you pray for God to remove any and all obstacles distracting you from having the absolute best experience with Him. I ask you to pray to remain devoted to your journey.

God will answer your prayers. “This is the reason I urge you to boldly believe for whatever you ask for in prayer—be convinced that you have received it and it will be yours.” Mark 11:24 The Passion Translation

If there is any doubt, if there are any lies still lingering in your mind, please read the Word of God in these verses and believe the truth:

“I speak to you an eternal truth: if you embrace my message and believe in the One who sent me, you will never face condemnation. In me, you have already passed from the realm of death into eternal life!” John 5:24 TPT

“Those who trust in the Son possess eternal life; those who don’t obey[a] the Son will not see life, and God’s anger will rise up against them.” John 3:36 TPT

“For by grace you have been saved by faith. Nothing you did could ever earn this salvation, for it was the love gift from God that brought us to Christ! So no one will ever be able to boast, for salvation is never a reward for good works or human striving.” Ephesians 2:8-9 TPT

“I give to them the gift of eternal life and they will never be lost and no one has the power to snatch them out of my hands.” John 10:28 TPT

“This is the true testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life has its source in his Son. Whoever has the Son has eternal life; whoever does not have the Son does not possess eternal life.” 1 John 5:11-13 TPT

“And what is God’s “living message”? It is the revelation of faith for salvation, which is the message that we preach. For if you publicly declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will experience salvation.” Romans 10:9 TPT

Good Morning Beauties!

Today may be a life changing experience for you. Have you allowed yourself to look at the Truth about what Jesus actually did for us? For you? This Truth is not for the faint of heart, so I ask you to be courageous with what He will show you today.

A couple of Bible verses that run through my mind when thinking of Jesus' sacrifice on the cross for me.:

"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

"Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends." John 15:13

It is LOVE for us, for you, that Jesus died, so that we could be reconciled to The Father and live together for eternity. It is LOVE that sent Jesus to the cross to defeat the enemy once and for all. “It is finished.”

We could stop there, and have this warm, ooey-gooey feeling, but can we just get real for a minute? The cross was anything but warm and fuzzy. It was torture. Let's be brave and take a look at the Truth of what Jesus endured for us, for you.

There is a song that touched my heart as a teenager and has stayed with me all these years. There is also a movie that has had a profound impact on my life. When you put them together, it is a bit overwhelming. To be honest, it is hard to watch, but I pray you will, so you will know Jesus more, and to have a better understanding of His depth of LOVE for you.

Beauty is courageous and brave! Selah.

Intimacy of the Redeemed

Good Morning Beauties!

It’s tempting to hurry and rush through our time with God when things come up and take our priority. I’m having one of those days now. Instead of focusing on my time with God, I needed to spend time with my husband and a friend who reached out for help. There’s nothing wrong about what I did, (there’s no condemnation) but I don’t want to give in to the temptation to rush through my time with God. If you find yourself in a similar situation, give yourself grace instead of guilt.

Oh that we are redeemed! This attribute we are entering into for the next 5 days is so special. Are you ready? Hearts opened wide? Willing to be changed forever?

As we contemplate the gravity of our redemption, let’s draw near to Jesus. What a sweet place to be, in the shadow of His wings. There we are secure, protected, tenderly loved by God. Our souls can find rest when we draw near to Him.

The Bible tells us when we draw near to Him, He will draw near to us. So, in our closeness with God today, what does He want to impart to us about His redemption? Does He want to take us beyond the definition of how He paid the price for our ransom with His precious blood? That Truth in itself is something to ponder forever, but does He want to go deeper with you today?

“With his own blood—not the blood of goats and calves—he entered the Most Holy Place once for all time and secured our redemption forever.” Hebrews 9:12 - New Living Translation

Jesus has allowed us to enter into the Most Holy Place, to be in His actual presence. Will you go in and allow Him to uncover the lies and replace them with His truth about your redemption? Selah.

Good Morning Beauties!

Righteousness. Do you believe it yet? Do you fully believe the fact Jesus Christ has made you righteous? After looking at your salvation, sanctification, forgiveness, and justification, are you letting go of the lies and holding on to truth? Selah.

We may have the knowledge of concepts in our minds, which is a start, but the real transformation happens when the truth travels to the heart as a belief. I find myself going back and forth. “Yes, I believe resurrection power has made a sinner like me righteous in the sight of God.” So, if I believe this truth, why do I still have days where I strive to be good enough? Not necessarily to please people, but to please God. Can you relate?

Please join me in prayer today as we make our desires known before God - our desires to live in His righteousness every day and leave all stress and strife behind. We can’t do it alone, we must have His help. “For everyone who knows your wonderful name keeps putting their trust in you. They can count on you for help no matter what. O Lord, you will never, no never, neglect those who come to you.” Psalm 9:10 TPT

Day 23 "Forgiven, Justified"
Peace Offering

Peace Offering

Good Afternoon Beauties!

Don’t you just love a good story? One of my favorites in The Bible is the transformation of Saul to Paul. Jesus appeared before Saul, (who had been persecuting Christians), on the road to Damascus, and shared The Truth and his life was changed forever. This redemptive story shows how the Love of Jesus can turn anyone away from the Darkness of Lies to the Light of Truth!

The change was amazing, and yet it put Paul in a very difficult position. His own people would be furious that he was siding with the Gentiles, but the Gentiles had just witnessed Paul persecuting their families and were obviously not fans of his.

Jesus spoke to Paul and said, “And I will protect you from both your own people and the Gentiles. Yes, I am going to send you to the Gentiles to open their eyes to their true condition so that they may repent and live in the light of God instead of in Satan’s darkness, so that they may receive forgiveness for their sins and God’s inheritance along with all people everywhere whose sins are cleansed away, who are set apart by faith in me.” Act 26:17-18 - The Living Bible.

In our righteousness, our “right standing with God,” we are forgiven and justified. God as Judge has proclaimed us innocent, though we are guilty, through His grace. We can learn from Paul’s story so many precepts. One is asking for forgiveness from others. You can bet he humbly asked the Gentiles to forgive his previous actions as he began to build trust with them.

We talk a lot about forgiving other people, but today, let’s determine from whom we need to ask forgiveness. What actions or behaviors have you done that need to be forgiven? Selah.

Day 22 "Saved and Sanctified"
Raised to New Life Photo by Darius Bashar on Unsplash

Raised to New Life
Photo by Darius Bashar on Unsplash

Good Morning Beauties!

Today's Truth is so important.  It's a Truth that has the power to set you free from the bondage of sin and rescue your very soul.

Saved, "to keep safe or rescue (someone or something) from harm or danger."  In most Christian churches I've been to, the idea of being saved means a person has made a decision to repent of their sins and follow Jesus.  "She believes in Jesus, she's saved."  And while yes, this is True, if we look at the definition in relation to what Jesus did for us, he RESCUED us from the greatest danger there is....eternal damnation.

I've often thought, as indescribably good as Heaven is, Hell is indescribably bad.  We really can't fathom the blessing of Heaven or the curse of Hell, but Jesus has rescued us from Hell so that we may dwell with Him in Heaven for eternity.  Hallelujah!  Selah.

Now that we are rescued, we must be sanctified.  "set apart as or declared holy; consecrated."  There is much to be said about sanctification, so let’s start by looking at what the Bible says. In Romans 5:5 we learn, “And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.” Paul introduced an additional effect of God’s salvation: He not only gives promises, but also He pours out His Spirit into the core of our being that will begin a process of transformation from within.

Sanctification is a process. It takes time, our lifetime. There’s never a time here on Earth where we can say, “Yep, I’m Holy as God is Holy. I’ve made it!” We’re always growing, always changing from glory to glory.

God showed me something new today. How do we go from the moment of Salvation to the process of Sanctification? The answer - Surrender. It’s the key! A surrendered life allows Jesus to become Lord of everything. It’s a voluntary surrendering of one’s will that provides fertile ground where sanctification can grow.

Have you fully surrendered your entire life to Jesus? If not, what specific pieces are you holding back? Pray for God to help you in discerning those hidden places. Selah.

Good Morning Beauties!

Righteous.  I love this word!  Being in "right standing" with God.  No more trying to be good enough, we already are good enough.  What does God’s Word say, “For God made the only one who did not know sin to become sin for us, so that we might become the righteousness of God through our union with him.” 2 Corinthians 5:21. This Truth relieves the pressure and stress from our minds, our souls, our hearts. We can find rest when we believe in our righteousness. Thank you Lord Jesus!

What lie are you believing that says you're not good enough, that you have to keep striving for something more.  Are you ready to lay that lie down and pick up the Truth?   You ARE righteous, and even when you make mistakes, you are still righteous.  There's nothing that you've done to earn it, you need only surrender all your striving and receive the gift from Jesus, who died for you.  Selah.

Good Morning Beauties!

Congratulations! You are half way through your journey. Let that soak in. Every day, for 20 days, you have placed yourself before God and allowed Him to reveal lies you’ve held on to - some for years. You’ve been willing to let God show you some painful things as He showed you truth. Look how far you’ve come with the Lord. AMAZING!!

Today is a great day to reflect on the success of your journey so far. Success as defined only by you. The best way I’ve found to do it is to review your expectations, obstacles with action plans, and your motivation. Your journal probably has lots of notes about these three topics, so just look back and determine how this experience is going for you. What’s going well that you’ll want to continue? Are there any changes you need to make? Selah.

The purpose of the 40 Day Journey is life transformation. You may see small changes or large ones. Everyone will have a different experience. No matter what the changes have been, let’s pray with our Father today. We give Him thanks for the revelation He’s given us in theses first 20 days, and we also ask Him for even more revelation in the last 20 days.

What does life transformation look like? Isaiah 61:1-3 provides a perfect description of how Christ came to give us new life.

“1 The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, 2 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, 3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.”

The truth you are GOD’S SPECIAL POSSESSION? The Truth that you are in a place to DECLARE HIS PRAISES? The truth you have been CALLED OUT OF DARKNESS? The truth you’ve been called INTO HIS WONDERFUL LIGHT? Selah.

Beauties, soak up all these truths today. Allow God to remove the lies and place these glorious truths in your heart. Be sure to use your journal to help write down this beautiful transformation.

How beautiful on the mountains are the sandaled feet of this one bringing such good news. You are truly royalty! The way you walk so gracefully in my ways displays such dignity. You are truly the poetry of God—his very handiwork.
