What was the result of your journey as it relates to the Day of Preparation? Did it meet your expectations? Why or Why not? Did the plans you made to overcome obstacles work? Were there unexpected obstacles? How was your motivation throughout the 40 days? Were you thirsty and ready to meet with God each day, or did some days feel less than exciting? There are no right answers, only honest ones. Selah.

I pray you have a greater knowledge and belief in who you are in Christ, and that you will experience greater freedom in your daily journey; freedom to be your true self and to fulfill your God given purpose. Are you able to truly “laugh at the days to come” without fear of the enemy’s lies and schemes? Selah.

Reflection of His Beauty

Hello Beauties!

Welcome to Day 40! It’s a special day; one to once again reflect on your beauty. Please join me here tomorrow to reflect on your entire journey experience, but today it’s about looking one more time about the truth of your beauty.

Day 40 on my first journey experience nailed it! God showed me how my beauty was a reflection of His beauty. “Every good and perfect thing comes from The Father of Lights,” (James 1:17) and that includes my beauty.

So on your Day 40, what is God revealing? Is there one more lie that is hard to release? Is there one more lie that’s been with you a long time? One more that somehow brings you comfort, and fear is keeping it close? Today is the day to let go and let God bring Light and Truth to who you are. Who HE says you are. Are you willing to release the lie and receive truth? Selah.

Day 39 "You Are A Child Of God"

Freedom of a Child

“So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir.” Galatians 4:7 NIV

In a world that values titles, can you think of a better one than “Child of God”? How does any other position we may hold compare to the significance of being Abba Father’s Child? What titles and positions have you spent your life trying to obtain? Have you achieved them, or are you still striving for something other than your status of Child of God? Write about why you’re struggling to give up earthly values for eternal ones. Is being God’s Child enough? Selah.

Our sonship (‘Daughtership’) brings us freedom! If we understand our true identity in Christ, we no longer have to fear. Our God will provide for us, protect us, give us anything we need - all because of His great love for us. What are your greatest fears? Write them down and ask the Holy Spirit to come and provide truth about each fear. God gave you a life that allows you to laugh in the face of any fear the enemy throws at you. Hallelujah!!

There are numerous influences that shape our self-worth. From the time we’re born, our parents have tremendous impact on how we see ourselves. Their words and actions can have a positive or negative effect. While in school and later in the workforce, our authority figures have a large amount of influence as well. These examples are of people in our lives, but what about cultural norms including socioeconomic status, politics, and social media?

Who have been the most impactful (positive or negative) people to have shaped your self worth and value? Make a list and explain how each one has influenced your beliefs. Next, add to your list the things and circumstances that have molded your belief system. Selah.

If you’ve ever struggled with your self-worth, you can find healing in this scripture. Take a look at the Deuteronomy scripture again. What stands out to you? That you’re holy? That you are chosen by God? That God had all the people in the world to pick from, and He still chose YOU? That God considers you His treasure? That God calls you His own? Let the Holy Spirit minister to any wounded place in your soul or spirit that needs to hear these truths. Pray He helps you accept the truth about how valuable you are to the God of the Universe. In Awe of His Beautiful Perfect Love

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 NIV

This beautiful passage captures the depth of God’s love for us. It’s not simply a feeling, Jesus put His love into action. He died on the cross and rose again to reconcile us to the Father…even while we were still sinners. Let’s not forget that part, the hard part.

I think we have the most difficulty believing that last part, because Earthly love is conditional. It’s familiar, it’s what we know. The love of God is so different from anything we’ve ever known. It’s hard to grasp how deep, wide, high, and long is the love of God.

Here’s what we do know: God’s love is a gift and there’s nothing you can do to earn it. God’s love is personal as He knows you and calls you by name. God’s love is sacrificial, you need only look to the cross. God’s love is transformative, and you have new identity in Him. God’s love is everlasting and will never be separated from you…ever! Which of these statements resonated with you most? Is it a new truth? What lies have you believed about God’s love? Do these statements bring clarity? Selah.

Beauty of Care-Free Laughter

Happy Lord’s Day Beauties!

“Now we call him, “Abba, Father.” For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children.” Romans 8:15 (b)-16 NLT.

What a wonderful truth we look at today, on Father’s Day in the US. We are God’s children - He is our father. Our identity as a child of God means that we rely fully on God and trust in His plan for our lives. Just like a child trusts their parents fully to guide them and protect them when they’re young, we should trust God as we navigate our journey through life with Him as our Father.

God has allowed us to have a care-free life, just as if we were still children. We will have troubles, Jesus said we would, but because He is here to carry our burdens, in our most inner being, we can still be at peace - like a child. Do you believe it? Selah.

As a follower of Jesus Christ, do you identify yourself as a child of God? Do you accept God as your Heavenly Father, meaning that He is a father figure in your life? Do you look to Him to guide and protect you just like an Earthly father would for his children? Selah.

For those of you who do not have a good relationship with your Earthly father, or none at all, I know this is a difficult concept to grasp. Please open your heart to the love your Abba Father has for you. Spend time today crying out to Him for all the love, encouragement, support, and protection you didn’t receive from your Earthly father. You can trust Him, the One who created you loves you. Selah.

Beautiful Overflow

Do you sense the change in tide? Do you hear it? Do you see it? Do you feel it? It seems like it happened overnight, but in reality it’s been changing for decades, centuries. The change is happening in the hearts and souls of His children. We are being forced to make a decision - do we believe Him and believe in Him. What do you say? What is your decision? Selah.

God wants to once again refine us and send us out to the lost and hurting world. Are you up for the challenge? What’s holding you back? If you had to write one thing that’s in your way, what would it be? What lies swirl around your head that stop you from rising up and believing all God has created you to be? Selah.

Day 34 "You Are Purity"

Beauty of the Refiner’s Fire

Good Morning Beauties!

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9 NIV

A refiner’s fire is where a material, such as gold, is placed in a fire to cleanse and burn away any impurities so that it becomes pure without blemish. God is the refiner who will put us into the fire to cleanse us of impurities - sin. We are refined, not destroyed, when we encounter God’s refiner’s fire. This fire of God’s love doesn’t consume us, but instead removes impurities and provides a new stage of progress in our journey with Jesus.

Are you willing to surrender even more of your life to God - even though you may have thought He already has it all? Will you allow Him to look into every dark corner and bring the hidden into the light? Are you ready for a new level of transparency with Jesus? Selah.

Beautiful Perfection

“This includes you who were once far away from God. You were his enemies, separated from him by your evil thoughts and actions. Yet now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his physical body. As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault.” Colossians 1:21-22 NLT

Read that last bit again, “as you stand before Him without a single fault.” What’s happening in your brain right now? Are your beliefs aligned with God’s truth? Are you listening to the enemy’s lies instead? What have been some harmful messages you were told? It’s time to believe the truth. Selah.

Beauties, I’ve found that most strong, capable, and successful women I know deal with perfectionism. Quite frankly, it’s a sin. We were never meant to be perfect in our own self, and yet we strive and try to reach an unreachable goal. Only Jesus is perfection, and in Him, God sees us free from sin, free from blemish…perfect.

You are spectacular! Will you accept the beautiful person God created today? Will you fully accept yourself, messes and all? Selah.

Go Light Up The Darkness

“This is the message God has given us to pass on to you: that God is Light and in him is no darkness at all.  So if we say we are his friends but go on living in spiritual darkness and sin, we are lying. But if we are living in the light of God’s presence, just as Christ does, then we have wonderful fellowship and joy with each other, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from every sin.” 1 John 1:5-7 (TLB)

I remember well when this very scripture was the beginning of a great healing in my life. I was a Christian, involved in my church, leading Bible studies and a dance ministry, and yet there was darkness. The troubles from my childhood still remained despite numerous councilors and years of therapy. In frustration, I yelled out to God, “You say where there is light, there is no darkness. Well, I still have darkness in me! Jesus, you’re going to have to heal me.” Almost immediately He answered my prayer, and I experienced great healing and the darkness was replaced by His marvelous light. Hallelujah!

How about you? How does your story speak to God’s awesome power to transform the darkness into light? Are you able to look back when darkness controlled your life prior to knowing Jesus? How can you take those memories and knowledge and help others into the light? Selah.

As the scripture above states, we can’t be friends with Jesus if we’re living in spiritual darkness. We’re in need of daily repentance which will keep us in the light of the Lord. Is there any unconfessed sin needing to be brought into the light? Jesus will meet you there and forgive you. Selah

Beauty of Clean Hands and Pure Heart

“Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord?  Who may stand in his holy place? The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not trust in an idol or swear by a false god.” Psalm 24:3-4 NIV

Beauties, that’s you! Jesus has made a way for you to walk boldly into the throne room of God and stand before the King. How often to you meet Him there? What’s stopping you? Are you waiting until you feel “good enough”? Are you waiting for the blemishes to fade before you stand in His marvelous light? Selah.

The enemy is the ultimate deceiver. His lies keep us from entering our prayer closets - where we are invited to come at any time. The Lord longs for those times when we come, and yet, sometimes, we don’t feel like we can. Does this ever happen to you? Do you run in or do you hesitate or even turn around? Beauty, know and understand that you are pure, you are spotless, your sins have been washed away and you’re as white as snow. You have been given an all access pass to the very presence of God. The Beauty of a Grateful Heart

Good Morning Beauties!

“The Lord will surely comfort Zion and will look with compassion on all her ruins; he will make her deserts like Eden, her wastelands like the garden of the Lord. Joy and gladness will be found in her, thanksgiving and the sound of singing” Isaiah 51:3-4 NIV

In this verse, Zion represents God’s people - the Church. I think it’s appropriate if we personalize it. Read the verse again aloud, and use your name instead of Zion. How does this beautiful passage tell your story? How has Jesus comforted you? What were the ruins He’s healed? How has He made your wastelands flourish? How do you express your joy and gladness? How will you give Him thanks today? Selah.

The story of Mary Magdalene, found in the gospels, in one of a beautifully redeemed soul who’s life was transformed by Jesus. Possessed by seven demons, her life was that of torment and rejection. Jesus had compassion on her life of ruins and created a stunning masterpiece of beauty, grace, and love. As a devoted follower of Jesus, Mary’s heart was filled with gratitude towards her Lord and Savior, and she expressed her appreciation in her daily walk with Him.

In this short video, Mary finds herself back in her previous sin and is deeply ashamed to face Jesus. How could she have sinned after all He had done for her? That’s a great question. How can we continue to sin after all Jesus has done for us? Selah.

I love Jesus’ tender response to Mary’s question. Let the Holy Spirit speak to your heart through this video. How has the enemy used shame as a stronghold in your life? How can we remain silent after all Jesus has done for us? Jesus gave up His crown for the cross. When we were still sinners, He came to save us. When it was time to pay the price for our sin, He paid it. He redeemed us.

Looking back on the past few days at all Jesus has done for you, how are you feeling? Overwhelmed? Grateful? Humble? Loved? Journal about your feelings today. Put aside your thoughts for a moment and write from your heart. Selah.

I pray that a fire is raging in your heart with your love for Jesus. I pray you are motivated to let your glow ignite others as you tell your story. We all have our own unique redemption story to share. How does yours begin? Do you remember from all that Jesus has saved you from? How does it compare to your life in Christ? Will you share your story with those you lead? Will you help them craft their own stories to share? Will you commit to igniting the world with your fire? Selah.

Day 28 "For You The Savior Died"

Our Beautiful Savior

Today’s lyric is difficult to look at, I won’t lie. From yesterday, we know that Christ died for our sins. He became the sacrificial lamb for us. Today we will look at how He died for us. What Jesus went through to save us. It won’t be easy.

Scripture describes the passion of Christ in Isaiah 53:1-9 NIV
Who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him. He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.

Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.

He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth. By oppression and judgment he was taken away. Yet who of his generation protested? For he was cut off from the land of the living; for the transgression of my people he was punished. He was assigned a grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death, though he had done no violence, nor was any deceit in his mouth.”

To most of you, this is a familiar verse. Please read through the passage again - slowly, picturing each word as it describes the pain and suffering Jesus endured. What have these words revealed to you today? What does God want you to do with this new knowledge? Selah.

On this day, Day 28 of each journey, I ask you to consider watching The Passion of The Christ. (I do not own the rights to this video.) It is extremely difficult to watch, but I ask you to watch anyway. The Truth about what Jesus endured for you, for me, for everyone, is not to be missed or ignored. I pray you will be changed by viewing Christ’s passion, and that you will have a better understanding of the Love God has for you.

“The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life—only to take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father.” John 10:17-18 NIV

What is the Father asking of you? Do you need courage to obey or are you still seeking His purpose for your life? Please spend time in prayer today in thanksgiving and seeking His wisdom and strength. We can be sure that He has a mighty plan for you and will give you all you need to accomplish it. The next generation is depending on your obedience. Selah.

Day 27 "The Lamb Was Crucified"

Beautiful Sacrifice

“The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” John 1:29 NIV

All the power of Almighty God, presented as an innocent, pure, undefiled lamb has saved us. There was nothing we could ever do to earn our salvation. Nothing at all in this world that is of enough worth to pay for our salvation, only the precious blood of The Lamb. How do you reconcile this truth in a culture that says we get “nothing for free”, “you have to work hard for everything you have”, and “you have to be better, stronger, smarter to get ahead”? What are some other messages (lies) that you find you’re believing? Selah.

There is so much we can say about The Lamb of God, but this blog is not a Bible study. I encourage you to open your Bible and dig deeper into why Jesus was called The Lamb of God, what symbolism is being used, what lessons are we to learn from His example, how do we apply these truths when leading the next generation? Selah.

Let’s praise the One who is worthy of all our devotion and admiration. The only one we give honor and glory - Jesus, our beloved Savior.

Beautiful Redeeming Love

“Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, because he has come to his people and redeemed them.” Luke 1:68 NIV

As we move on to our next attribute, REDEEMED, let’s really press in to the truth of what Jesus has actually done for us. What is your understanding of redemption? Is this a familiar word? When talking with a non-Christian, is it easier to talk about being saved than redeemed? Selah.

It helps me to look at definitions from several resources to get a full understanding of words. Let’s look at a few definitions of the word redeem:

Oxford Dictionary - “gain or regain possession of (something) in exchange for payment.”
Merriam-Webster - “to free from what distresses or harms: such as: to free from captivity by payment of ransom.”
Websters 1828 - “To purchase back; to ransom; to liberate or rescue from captivity or bondage, or from any obligation or liability to suffer or to be forfeited.”
The Hebrew word for redeem is Ga’al, which means to buy back, ransom, or rescue, often in a relationship-based context like a kinsman-redeemer.”

What stood out to you in these definitions? Did the Holy Spirit show you something new? How would you explain redemption to those you lead? Selah.

Today is a mini Day of Reflection. We’ve crossed the half-way mark already. Can you believe it? Let’s take a look at the faithfulness of God as He’s already worked so much in our lives during our journeys.

“The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].” John 10:10 AMP

Is this scripture becoming real for you? Looking back on your journey, what lies has the Lord revealed to you? What truths do you now believe? How has this experience changed you? How has it equipped you to lead others? Selah.

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.” Matthew 5:6 NIV

The past couple of days we’ve reflected on our blessings. We have been given the gifts of salvation and sanctification - nothing we could do except receive these gifts. We’ve also been forgiven of all our sins: past, present, and future. Lastly, the Lord has justified us. He wiped the slate clean, as if we never sinned - spotless and blameless because of God’s grace and mercy.

You are blessed, and you are righteous, but are you hungry? Have you remained thirsty? Have you accepted these gracious gifts but finished seeking God? Is the desperation that once drove you to your knees now gone? Selah.

Isaiah 61:1-3 beautifully speaks of the reason Jesus came to Earth. He came for the broken, sick, and lame. He came to transform our lives - take what the enemy had stolen and tried to destroy, and bring an abundant life of freedom and purpose. I particularly love verse 3, “They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.” NIV Our transformed lives are to be on full display for others to see the magnificent love and power of our Lord and Savior, Jesus.

The next generation needs your witness. What will you show them? Will they see a content woman, with a crown filled with God’s blessings, or will they also see a hungry and thirsty woman still seeking the Lord with all her might? Selah.

Day 23 "Forgiven, Justified"

The Forgiven Forgive

Good Morning Beauties!

“Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sin is put out of sight!” Psalm 32:1 NLT
Do you live as a forgiven follower of Jesus Christ? Have you truly repented of your sins and accepted this free gift of forgiveness? Is there anything holding you back? Selah.

“He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west.” Psalm 103:12 NLT
Not only does Jesus forgive us, He forgets our sins as though they never existed. Jesus doesn’t suddenly remember a forgiven sin and ask you for more repentance. He forgives and forgets. Hallelujah! Do you live in the freedom of this truth? Selah.

“Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” Romans 5:1 NIV
Jesus provides a “clean slate” for us. Our justification allows us to live just as if we have never sinned. Take a few moments to wrap your head around this truth. The enemy will torment your mind with lies saying, “you’re damaged and dirty. How could a good God ever want you?” Will you believe the lies or the truth? Selah.

“Love prospers when a fault is forgiven, but dwelling on it separates close friends.” Proverbs 17:9 NLT
Just as Jesus forgave us, we too are to forgive others. Forgiveness maintains a healthy close relationship - just like yours with Jesus. It allows you to give what you’ve been freely given and didn’t deserve. Who do you need to extend the olive branch? What healthy relationship needs repairing? How will your leadership teach others to forgive? Selah.

“Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.” Ephesians 4:31-32 NLT
This scripture goes into more detail of how we are to forgive others. Words like bitterness, rage, and anger tell me that the offense may have been severe, and yet, we are still called to forgive. You may have been abused, betrayed, or abandoned, and still - you must forgive. You must make a decision with your mind to forgive the person, and believe your emotions will one day catch up. “But it’s too hard,” you say. In your own strength, you’re right, but you have the power of almighty God through the Holy Spirit who lives inside you. You can forgive! You must forgive as Jesus forgave you.

“Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: ‘It is mine to avenge; I will repay,’ says the Lord.” Romans 12:19 NIV
”But they must pay for what they did,” you say. Yes, they will pay, but the vengeance belongs to the Lord. You can let go of the offense and find freedom. You can let the Lord deal with the person, and you can simply walk away with your peace and freedom in tact. Remember, forgiveness with the Love of Jesus doesn’t mean you must stay in relationship with the person who is harmful. Forgiveness doesn’t require you trust the person again, it requires letting go of the offense.

Are you in this situation? Has someone deeply wounded you so that there is no repairing the relationship? Has Jesus told you to walk away from the person for your own health and safety? How will you forgive and let the Lord deal with the necessary consequences? Selah.

Is there someone your’re leading who finds herself in this situation? How will you guide her through this pain with God’s grace and the love of Jesus? How will you show her how to do the hard work? Selah.

Beautiful Witness to Others

Happy Lord’s Day Beauties!

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 NIV
Do you know this salvation? Do you believe Jesus was born of a virgin, suffered and died for our sins, and on the 3rd day rose from the grave and now sits at the right hand of the Father? As mothers, leaders, mentors, do those you lead follow Jesus or do they follow you? Do they have their own belief in Him? Selah.

“Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman’s testimony, ‘He told me everything I ever did.’” John 4:39 NIV
What is your rescue story, and how does God want to use it? People are just waiting to hear your testimony so they will understand the truth about Jesus. They need to know the hope He brings and that is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Do you have your testimony ready to share at any time the Spirit prompts you? Selah.

“When I came to you, I did not come with eloquence or human wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God.” 1 Cor 2:1 NIV
Beauties, you don’t have to be a Bible scholar to share your testimony. Simply share what your life was like before you knew Jesus and what it’s like now. Share about what Jesus has saved you from and what your life is like now in Him. Share about how you are being sanctified (being made holy) by the Holy Spirit, and that you don’t have to be perfect to be saved. Share how He has taken your brokenness and is making something glorious. Are you ready to share? What’s holding you back? Have you prepared those you lead to share their stories? Selah.

“And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.” 1 John 5:11 NIV
Though our stories are made to share, don’t forget the most important testimony - Jesus, the messiah, came to save us and give us eternal life. Share Bible scriptures that are most impactful to the story of Jesus and how they too can be saved. What scriptures live in your heart and are ready to share? Do you need to open your Bible and find the right ones? Will you do it today? Selah
