Happy Easter Beauties!

“Yes, God raised Jesus to life! And since God’s Spirit of Resurrection lives in you, he will also raise your dying body to life by the same Spirit that breathes life into you!” Romans 8:11 The Passion Translation

Oh the good news of Easter! Is there anything more beautiful than the life of Jesus resurrected from the darkness of death and the tomb? What an amazing love story! Not only did Jesus conquer death, but He rose again to give us new life. A life that is simply beautiful.

The resurrection power that raised Christ from the dead is given to us, so we too can live a life of authority over darkness. No longer slaves to fear, doubt, anxiety, guilt, and shame, we command the enemy and his demons to leave. They have no place in our lives - our newly resurrected lives. Selah.

Nothing can stop the power of Christ’s resurrection and the life it brings to God’s children. Nothing! Today, it’s actually snowing on Easter. He’s still risen! Today, all around the world, we are not gathered to celebrate in our church buildings. He’s still risen! Today, a friend is mourning the loss of his infant son. He is still risen!

If the same power that raised Christ lives in you, please believe this truth - Nothing can stop the resurrection power living in you from accomplishing everything Jesus died to give you. Nothing can stop you from living your life in freedom! Nothing can stop you from making your dreams a reality! Nothing can stop you from ___. You fill in the blank. Selah.

Today we celebrate the risen life of Jesus, and also our own. How will you celebrate your new life? Selah.

Good Morning Beauties!

“For You shaped me, inside and out. You knitted me together in my mother’s womb long before I took my first breath. I will offer You my grateful heart, for I am Your unique creation, filled with wonder and awe. You have approached even the smallest details with excellence; Your works are wonderful; I carry this knowledge deep within my soul. You see all things; nothing about me was hidden from You. As I took shape in secret, carefully crafted in the heart of the earth before I was born from its womb. You see all things; You saw me growing, changing in my mother’s womb; Every detail of my life was already written in Your book; You established the length of my life before I ever tasted the sweetness of it.”
Psalm 139:13-16 The Voice translation

When we think of being created, why is it easier to think of our biological parents than God Himself? Is He not the creator of all things? Take time today to read and meditate on Psalm 139:13-16. Pray and bring God into your time of contemplation. Allow Him to show you just how magnificent you truly are to Him and to the world. He formed you perfectly for the purpose He chose you to accomplish while here on the Earth. Selah.

Our Life Through His Death

Good Morning Beauties!

There is no greater love than this…Jesus died on a cross for us, for me, for you. The indescribable display of love is two fold, right? The love of Jesus to lay down His life for us, and the love of God the Father. He loved us so much He gave His one and only Son to save us. We will never know a greater love.

He is so magnificent, and yet He treasures us! Shouldn’t that be the other way around? Are you perplexed by what appears to be a mistake? He’s the one who should be treasured by us. It’s not a mistake! You are dearly loved and treasured by God. What do you think about this truth? What lies make it hard to believe? Can you uproot them and hand them over to the one who died for you? Selah.

On this special day we remember the great love of Jesus as He went willingly to the cross. As you ponder His great sacrifice, how did it appear on your life’s journey. We all come to the place of encountering the cross. We must make a choice to believe what Jesus did for us there or not. We can also believe all the freedom found in this sacred place, or we can choose to walk on by, leaving the cross behind. Leaving the love, mercy, grace, peace and joy found in the cross is to live in darkness, void of His light. What will you choose? What will you help others choose? Selah.

Let’s praise and honor Jesus our Savior and King. He deserves nothing less.

Joy of Being Loved

Good Morning Beauties!

Beloved..."much loved, cherished, treasured, prized, highly regarded, admired, worshiped, revered."  Adored..."to regard with the utmost esteem, love, and respect; to honor."

Your Abba Father calls you BELOVED.  The God of Heaven and Earth ADORES you.  Do you believe it?  Do you know this Love?  Have you let this Truth penetrate your deepest wounds, silence lies, and mend your broken heart? Selah!

Let today be the day you ask The Lord to show you His Perfect Love so you will never doubt it again.  Receiving God's love is life changing and will lead to the greatest transformation you will ever know.

The song and video below presents several testimonies of broken young women who have been transformed.  I pray you will be blessed and inspired by their stories and that you will receive all the Father has for you today.  Selah.

So now I live with the confidence that there is nothing in the universe with the power to separate us from God’s love. I’m convinced that his love will triumph over death, life’s troubles, fallen angels, or dark rulers in the heavens. There is nothing in our present or future circumstances that can weaken his love. There is no power above us or beneath us—no power that could ever be found in the universe that can distance us from God’s passionate love, which is lavished upon us through our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One!

Day 36 "You Are A Child Of God"
Perfect Child of God Photo by Shelby Miller on Unsplash

Perfect Child of God

Good Morning Beauties!

Now we crescendo with the most important truth of them all - You are a Child of God. If you believe nothing else, please hold on to this truth and all that it entails. I pray all the truths you’ve discovered on your journey come together with this one truth - you are a Child of God. He sees you as the perfect and innocent child He created long before the trials and tribulations of a fallen world effected you.

How do you describe having God as your father? What does it mean intellectually, emotionally, and physically? Write your thoughts and feelings in your journal. Pray God reveals Himself in this role of Abba Father (Daddy) to you in a fresh new way. Selah.

Our position as Children of God was a right given to us by God, Himself. It is an absolute honor and privilege to be given this title, and it came with a high cost - the precious blood of Christ. His enormous and unfailing love is for everyone, but not every person He created accepts Him. Let’s take a look at scripture, “But although he made the world, the world didn’t recognize him when he came. Even in his own land and among his own people, the Jews, he was not accepted. Only a few would welcome and receive him. But to all who received him, he gave the right to become children of God. All they needed to do was to trust him to save them.” John 1:1-12 The Living Bible

I’ve held several roles and positions in my life I was proud of like, straight A student, honor roll member, leader of sports teams, and manager of the year. These roles speak about my ability to achieve success, but not about who I am as a person. I am more than a list of achievements, and so are you. You are loved, you are not alone, you are the child of the Most High King and Almighty God. There is no better title or role you will ever have than that!

What titles and positions have you strived for in your life? What happened if you did not attain them? What are the lies you believed? Take some time to look back and reflect on how damaging the lies were to you. Selah.

Now let’s hear what God says about you…

Good Morning Beauties!

Do you sense the change in tide? Do you hear it? Do you see it? Do you feel it? It seems like it happened overnight, but in reality it’s been changing for decades, centuries. The change is happening in the hearts and souls of His children. We are being forced to make a decision - do we believe Him and believe in Him. What do you say? What is your decision? Selah.

And now God wants to once again refine us and send us out to the lost and hurting world. Are you up for the challenge? What’s holding you back? If you had to write one thing that’s in your way, what would it be? What lies swirl around your head that stop you from rising up and believing all God has created you to be? Selah.

Your beauty is Brave. Your beauty is Strong. Your beauty is Resilient. You do not have to worry, tremble, give way to the fears of the world. You can stand your ground with the Lord by your side and find peace and rest.

Just as God is enamored by our beauty, we too are overwhelmed by His. Let’s praise the One who created us, saved us, and ensured we’d be together with Him for eternity.

Good Morning Beauties!

You are pure! Do you believe it? Have the truths of the past few days dropped from your head down to your heart? Do you believe you no longer live in darkness, but you are filled with God’s glorious light? Do you believe God does not see any of your sin - you are spotless? Are you still asking yourself, “how can this be?” Selah.

What is the banner over your life? Is it one of condemnation or forgiveness. You’ve already looked at the attribute of “forgiven” and know God has forgiven your sins, but have you forgiven yourself? Before we move on, I think it’s very important to have a real heart-to-heart with ourselves. Are we still living with guilt and shame? Guilt is feeling badly about what we’ve done. Shame is more harmful, because it’s feeling badly about who we are. Guilt says, “what I’ve done is bad.” Shame says, “I’m bad.”

My dear Beauties, today is the day to rid yourself of any and all condemnation. God tells us,So now the case is closed. There remains no accusing voice of condemnation against those who are joined in life-union with Jesus, the Anointed One. For the “law” of the Spirit of life flowing through the anointing of Jesus has liberated us from the “law” of sin and death.” Romans 8:1-2 The Passion Translation

Our God is greater than those lies of the enemy. He has already set you free from condemnation. Today accept His beautiful gift of mercy.

Day 33 "Perfect In His Sight"

Standing Perfect Among Mistakes

Good Afternoon Beauties!

Welcome to Holy Week. I pray you’ve all enjoyed your Palm Sunday morning with the King of Kings. Did you have an opportunity to celebrate His triumphant entry into the city of Jerusalem and the meaning of His humble journey?

Let’s look at today’s lyric, “perfect in His sight.” Do you think you’re perfect? Are you striving to be? What do you believe in your heart about such a thing? Selah.

The Lord was so faithful as I looked to Him for a new message about this subject this morning. I usually speak to all the perfectionists out there who try to be perfect to be loved and accepted by family, friends, and even God. I continue to speak truth into the striving and proclaim God already sees us as perfect through the blood of Christ and His sacrifice. And, of course, I continue to say, “God already loves and accepts you just the way you are, so stop trying to be better!”

Today, He showed me a parallel between the Jews’ expectations of Him and our expectations of ourselves. You see, the Jews were waiting for their Savior, and many believed Jesus was indeed Him. The problem was they were looking at Him with an Earthly perspective. They were ready for a triumphant King to blaze into the city like a victorious warrior, but Jesus humbly rode in on a donkey. He did not meet the expectations of the people, but He did fulfill prophesy. He did what His Father called Him to do.

So, how does this story relate to us? What are your expectations of yourself? Do you expect perfection? Take a moment, stop, and honestly answer. Selah.

We pray for perfect behavior out of our love and deep devotion to God, but we will never attain it. So we keep on trying with more determination. When we fail again, we try even harder until we’re exhausted, believing we’ve disappointed God. Do you find yourself on this cycle? Selah.

I’m here to say, get off the cycle. You are already perfect in His eyes! The failures of being a human are going to happen over and over, but it’s okay. Our role is not to be perfect, but to stay in relationship with Jesus, and fulfill the purpose of our lives….to love God and love others.

“Even though you were once distant from him, living in the shadows of your evil thoughts and actions, he reconnected you back to himself. He released his supernatural peace to you through the sacrifice of his own body as the sin-payment on your behalf so that you would dwell in his presence. And now there is nothing between you and Father God, for he sees you as holy, flawless, and restored, if indeed you continue to advance in faith, assured of a firm foundation to grow upon. Never be shaken from the hope of the gospel you have believed in. And this is the glorious news I preach all over the world.” Colossians 1:21-23 TPT

Are you ready to move on from the need of perfection, knowing you are already loved and accepted by the one who created you? Selah.

The one perfect thing we can focus our attention on is Jesus - God’s Perfect Love!

Good Morning Beauties!

As the sun shines brightly to warm the Earth, and I see so many of God’s creatures singing and playing in front of me, I am reminded of this: Jesus is the light of the world, and in this light we find life.

“Life came into being because of him, for His life is light for all humanity. And this Living Expression is the Light that bursts through gloom, the Light that darkness could not diminish! Then suddenly a man appeared who was sent from God, a messenger named John.  For He came to be a witness, to point the way to the Light of Life, and to help everyone believe.” John 1:4-7 The Passion Translation

“He then reached down from heaven, all the way from the sky to the sea. He reached down into my darkness to rescue me! He took me out of my calamity and chaos and drew me to himself, taking me from the depths of my despair!” Psalm 18:16 TPT

“His light broke through the darkness and he led us out in freedom from death’s dark shadow and snapped every one of our chains.” Psalm 107:14 TPT

“For God, who said, “Let brilliant light shine out of darkness,” is the one who has cascaded his light into us—the brilliant dawning light of the glorious knowledge of God as we gaze into the face of Jesus Christ.”
2 Corinthians 4:6 TPT

Good Morning Beauties!

Today we begin our last 10 days of our journey, and perhaps the most significant. It’s in these last two attributes we do some real warfare with the enemy. Are you ready? Are you willing to give it all you’ve got? Selah.

Purity. From the word pure. If you had to describe this word to a friend, what would you say? How do you relate to this word? Do you think you’re pure? Do you feel you possess purity in your life? Do you believe you’re spotless, blameless, without sin? Selah.

The Lord spoke mightily to me in my second journey experience about my purity. You see, my behavior during my late teens and early twenties was anything but innocent. Out of a lot of pain and feeling unloved, I acted in ways that were unGodly. Society accepted the behavior, but not God. During my journey experience, the lies of, “you’re filthy dirty,” and “you can act like a Christian on the outside, but you’ll always be the same on the inside” were replaced with God’s truth. He showed me His love had washed me white as snow and that I was a new creation in Christ. It was a true washing away the lies and being transformed by His grace and truth.

What do you need from God today to wash away the lies in your head and heart? Please spend time with Him in prayer and simply ask for what you need. He is there for you, just waiting to bless you with His Love and truth. Selah.

Good Morning Beauties!

Do you have the desperate need to see more? Know more? Be in control? Is putting your trust in God for your future an option? Selah.

Trusting God with my future is my only option. I look out my window through the trees and see a hill. It’s so close, I can’t see beyond it at all. I’m curious by nature, so I get frustrated when I can only see the brown grass covered hill. I want to see more. Then God says, “Look up.” When I change my focus from forward to up, I see Him. He’s all I need. My future is in His hands, and I’m fooling myself to think otherwise.

Will you join me today in casting your vision from what’s before you and simply look up? What does God want to say to you? What truth does He want to impart to you? What lie does He want to reveal and have you relinquish? Selah.

Letting go of our need to control is BEAUTIFUL! Let’s run to our source of all things today.

Good Morning Beauties!

We’ve looked at the “why” Jesus paid the price for our salvation - His and the Father’s deep love for us. We’ve also looked at the “how” Jesus saved us through the horrific death on the cross. So Beauties, this is the question - how will you respond? Selah.

The gospels tell the salvation story of Jesus’ birth, death, and resurrection so that all who call upon Him as savior, will indeed be saved and have eternal life. This is the GOOD NEWS! Especially in these dark times of the global health and economic crisis, people need to hear the truth and good news of Jesus Christ. Do you agree?

Here are the words from King David, who had been saved spiritually and physically by God:

“So, go ahead—let everyone know it! Tell the world how he broke through and delivered you from the power of darkness and has gathered us together from all over the world. He has set us free to be his very own!”
Psalm 107:2-3 The Passion Translation

Will you tell? It doesn’t have to be the world right now; it can be just one. Please pray and listen to the one God puts on your heart. The time is now to be the hands and feet of Christ for the lost world and to tell them of His perfect love. Selah.

Let’s celebrate our glorious Savior and the fact He paid the price for our souls.

Day 28 "For You The Savior Died"
Our Beautiful Savior

Our Beautiful Savior

Good Morning Beauties!

Suffering. There is undeniable suffering in the world. People dying alone, families grieving alone, companies closing, jobs lost, fear and trembling of the unknown. This suffering is relatively new to a large portion of the population, especially in the Western world. But make no mistake, there has always been suffering. Starvation, unjust wars, and children being used for the perversion of men to name a few.

So what do we do? Where do we turn in times of great suffering and loss. We turn to Jesus. Though so much devastation is happening in the world, I hope you have continued your focus on Jesus and the season of Easter. The beautiful celebration of transformation and new life is drawing near. Just as Jesus had to go through great suffering before His resurrection, so we must die to self and to the trappings of this world to be united with Him. An intimate relationship with Christ is our goal, our prize, our everything.

Today let’s turn our focus and reverence unto our Lord Jesus Christ. Prayerfully reflect on His actual sacrifice on the cross for us, the “how” of our redemption. It’s difficult to image the horror from reading the description in Isaiah 52 and 53, and even more so to watch the video which brings the words to life. I pray you will read each word and watch each moment of Jesus’ payment for our sins. Take time this day to grow closer to your Savior. Allow the Truth of your redemption to filter through your mind and reside in your heart.

Isaiah 52:13 See, my Servant shall prosper; he shall be highly exalted. 14-15 Yet many shall be amazed when they see him—yes, even far-off foreign nations and their kings; they shall stand dumbfounded, speechless in his presence. For they shall see and understand what they had not been told before. They shall see my Servant beaten and bloodied, so disfigured one would scarcely know it was a person standing there. So shall he cleanse many nations.

Isaiah 53 But, oh, how few believe it! Who will listen? To whom will God reveal his saving power? 2 In God’s eyes he was like a tender green shoot, sprouting from a root in dry and sterile ground. But in our eyes there was no attractiveness at all, nothing to make us want him. 3 We despised him and rejected him—a man of sorrows, acquainted with bitterest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way when he went by. He was despised, and we didn’t care.

4 Yet it was our grief he bore, our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, for his own sins! 5 But he was wounded and bruised for our sins. He was beaten that we might have peace; he was lashed—and we were healed! 6 We—every one of us—have strayed away like sheep! We,who left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet God laid on him the guilt and sins of every one of us!

7 He was oppressed and he was afflicted, yet he never said a word. He was brought as a lamb to the slaughter; and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he stood silent before the ones condemning him. 8 From prison and trial they led him away to his death. But who among the people of that day realized it was their sins that he was dying for—that he was suffering their punishment? 9 He was buried like a criminal, but in a rich man’s grave; but he had done no wrong and had never spoken an evil word.

10 But it was the Lord’s good plan to bruise him and fill him with grief. However, when his soul has been made an offering for sin, then he shall have a multitude of children, many heirs. He shall live again, and God’s program shall prosper in his hands. 11 And when he sees all that is accomplished by the anguish of his soul, he shall be satisfied; and because of what he has experienced, my righteous Servant shall make many to be counted righteous before God, for he shall bear all their sins. 12 Therefore, I will give him the honors of one who is mighty and great because he has poured out his soul unto death. He was counted as a sinner, and he bore the sins of many, and he pled with God for sinners.” The Living Bible

Good Morning Beauties!

“The Son of Man, (Jesus) has come to save all those who are lost. A shepherd in charge of 100 sheep notices that one of his sheep has gone astray. What do you think he should do? Should the shepherd leave the flock on the hills unguarded to search for the lost sheep? God’s shepherd goes to look for that one lost sheep, and when he finds her, he is happier about her return than he is about the 99 who stayed put. Your Father in heaven does not want a single one of the tripped, waylaid, stumbling little ones to be lost.” Matthew 18:11-14 The Voice Translation

Oh how He loves us, each one of us! That’s a good place for us to focus today, on His unending love and devotion for us. It’s the “why” God sent His beloved Son to die for us. I pray you are able to let the Truth of God’s Love sink deep down to every part of your soul. Sometimes I’m so overwhelmed by His love for me that I think I’ll surely die. I just have no more capacity to take it all in. Can you relate? Jesus loves us all that much - overflowing.

Please spend time today hearing His tender thoughts towards you as He fills you to overflowing.

Good Afternoon Beauties!

We have fear right now, and Jesus did too! As we begin our study of the next attribute, redeemed, let’s focus on the beautiful Easter story. It began with Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane. He was afraid and filled with anguish, but He didn’t let it stop Him from fulfilling His purpose.

“Then He withdrew from them a short distance to be alone. Kneeling down, He prayed, ‘Father, if You are willing, take this cup of agony away from Me. But no matter what, Your will must be Mine.’ Jesus called for an angel of glory to strengthen Him, and the angel appeared.  He prayed even more passionately, like one being sacrificed, until He was in such intense agony of spirit that His sweat became drops of blood, dripping onto the ground.” Luke 22:41-44 The Passion Translation

Jesus looked beyond the fear, pain, and heartbreak to fulfill God’s will. He paid our ransom on the cross. A debt we could not pay to set us free from the grip of sin and death. He’s paid it all! There is nothing else to pay. Is the enemy telling you something different? Do you still believe you must earn your freedom, your salvation? That’s a lie!

Let’s look again what the Word tells us, “For you know that your lives were ransomed once and for all from the empty and futile way of life handed down from generation to generation. It was not a ransom payment of silver and gold, which eventually perishes, but the precious blood of Christ—who like a spotless, unblemished lamb was sacrificed for us.” 1 Peter 1:18-19 The Passion Translation. We looked at this scripture just a few days ago, but I want you to hear it and believe it this time. No doubts! Selah.

Let’s look at more Truth in the scriptures…

“He Himself will redeem you; He will ransom you from the cruel slavery of your sins!” Psalm 130:8 TPT

“He gave Himself as ransom-payment for everyone. Now is the proper time for God to give the world this witness.” 1 Timothy 2:6 TPT

Truth sets us free and our response is praise!

“His forever-love paid a full ransom for His people so that now we’re free to come before Jehovah to worship His holy and awesome name!” Psalm 111:9 TPT

“Yahweh’s ransomed ones will return with glee to Zion. They will enter with a song of rejoicing and be crowned with everlasting joy. Ecstatic joy will overwhelm them; weariness and grief will disappear!” Isaiah 35:10 TPT

I pray the Lord holds us especially close today, and the truth of His love for us brings comfort and peace we’re needing. Jesus literally gave it all for us. He gave His very life. What more could He give? Are you asking for more? Selah.

Good Afternoon Beauties!

I pray you’ve had a wonderful morning in the presence of your Abba Father. He is waiting every morning for us to join Him. Sometimes we keep Him waiting, but He’s always there with love and acceptance, not disappointment, and certainly without condemnation. Selah.

Today, God is teaching me about “new.” We’ve heard this word used a lot lately coupled with “normal.” I get it, the happenings of the world have eliminated the usual comings and goings of our typical daily life. In the Bible, new is a good thing, a great thing, a Godly thing. Let’s embrace God’s truth about this opportunity we have for His newness in our lives.

Isaiah 43:19-21 (Living Bible) says, “For I’m going to do a brand-new thing. See, I have already begun! Don’t you see it? I will make a road through the wilderness of the world for my people to go home, and create rivers for them in the desert! The wild animals in the fields will thank me, the jackals and ostriches too, for giving them water in the wilderness, yes, springs in the desert, so that my people, my chosen ones, can be refreshed.  I have made Israel for myself, and these my people will some day honor me before the world.”

Can we shift our focus from the destruction happening in the world to the transformation God is bringing to us? He’s making us new! He’s bringing us back to Himself like never before. We will surely rise from the ashes as a beautiful Bride. Remember, He is a God of Life, not destruction.

Here are several songs with the same title. All have a special message that will bless you as you listen. Look deep inside and see how God is wanting to make you new today. Selah.

And the one sitting on the throne said, ‘Look, I am making everything new!’ And then he said to me, ‘Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.’ And he also said, ‘It is finished! I am the Alpha and the Omega—the Beginning and the End. To all who are thirsty I will give freely from the springs of the water of life.’

Good Morning Beauties!

You are Righteous! Is it sinking in? What have you heard from God about your justification, salvation, and sanctification? Are you still processing just how miraculous these gift are? Selah.

Jesus came to make us right with God, so we can enter His presence, and be changed by His Love and Grace. This change makes it possible to be an example to others, so they too might be changed. I think this transformation by God is the true “circle of life.”

Given the current state of our world, how will you help others to see God’s love? How will you be the hands and feet of Christ? Now is the time, like never before, for the Church to rise up and give witness to the transforming love that is Jesus Christ. What does that look like for you today? How will you put your vision into action? Selah.

Who in your life is God prompting you to be a Godly example? A friend? A co-worker? A family member? You don’t have to be perfect to be used by God, just willing. Are you willing to make a difference in someone’s life today? Selah.

Day 23 "Forgiven Justified"
Confession + Forgiveness = FREEDOM Photo by Fuu J on Unsplash

Confession + Forgiveness = FREEDOM

Good Morning Beauties!

Today is a day of FREEDOM. Are you ready to lay down any and all guilt and shame and claim your forgiveness and justification in Christ? It’s hard for us to imagine Jesus has taken away every sin we’ve ever committed or will ever commit, but it’s true - He has. Why is it difficult to believe? Selah.

Let’s look at what the Bible says. Here’s a quick study from 1 John 1:8-9 in The Passion Translation with notes:

Purified From Sin

“If we boast that we have no sin, we’re only fooling ourselves and are strangers to the truth. 9 But if we freely admit our sins when his light uncovers them,[a] he will be faithful to forgive us every time. God is just to forgive us our sins because of Christ, and he will continue to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Footnotes:

  1. 1 John 1:9 Confession of sin is the way to find restoration and unbroken fellowship with God. It cleanses the conscience and removes every obstacle from communion with Christ. Confession does not gain God’s acceptance, for that was won for us forever by the sacrifice of Christ. It is on the basis of being his dearly loved children that we restore intimacy with God through our tenderhearted confession before him. God will always be faithful to restore our first-love passion for him. There is no need to confess the same sins over and over, for that is ignoring the blood of Jesus that cleanses us. All of our sins were paid for on the cross and we can do nothing to remove them, but confession acknowledges God’s faithfulness to restore our intimacy with him. Our Father and our forgiving Redeemer fill the heavens with grace toward every believer, even when we sin.

  2. 1 John 1:9 “Unrighteousness,” in this context, means the sins we’re not aware of. Confession cleanses known sin and restores fellowship with God, but God’s faithfulness, in seeing Christ as our Sin-Bearer, cleanses us from all unknown sin as well. If we do but one thing (confess our sin), God will do four things: (1) demonstrate his faithful love, (2) demonstrate justice by counting our sins paid for by Christ, (3) forgive us every sin, and (4) continue a deeper work of cleansing from all aspects of sin’s defilement.

How is your confession life these days? Mine is less than good, for sure. I’ve been understandably distracted with the epic worldly events and trying to establish a “new normal.” Though I have stepped up my quiet time with God, my intimate confessions have been forgotten. If you can relate, it’s okay. Let’s start back into the habit of confessing our sins daily so we keep our close relationship with God in tact.

Let’s praise the King who has forgiven us and justified us into His righteousness.

But in spite of what you’ve done, God has fulfilled what he foretold through the prophets long ago about the sufferings of his Anointed One. And now you must repent and turn back to God so that your sins will be removed, and so that times of refreshing will stream from the Lord’s presence.

Day 22 "Saved And Sanctified"

Good Morning Beauties!

Two beautiful words today that absolutely change your life. Saved. Sanctified. God transforms our lives in an instant with salvation and over a lifetime with sanctification.

In my study time with God this morning, I kept hearing the word surrender, so I changed my focus to how surrender plays a role in our salvation and sanctification. Here is what I found…

Is surrender essential to salvation?

“This question is one that is quite debatable among genuine Christians. Some would say, "Absolutely, surrendering your whole being and everything you have is necessary to become a Christian." Others would say "No, surrendering to God is something a Christian does after salvation." Others would take a mediating position between the two. What does the Bible teach?

Let's begin with the simple Gospel message. Christ came to earth to save sinners (1 Timothy 1:15). Because we are sinful beings (Romans 3:20), we cannot have fellowship with God. In fact, because of this predicament we are in, we cannot do anything to earn God's favor (Ephesians 2:8-9). God, however, understanding our sinful state sent Jesus Christ to die in our place (Romans 5:8). He is the mediator between holy God and sinful humanity (1 Timothy 2:5). Once I exercise faith in the finished work of Christ, my sins are forgiven and I become a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17).

The Bible speaks about two wonderful theological truths that occur within the life of a Christian the moment he believes. First, the believer is justified before God (Romans 5:1). To be justified means to be "declared righteous." Before a person comes to know Christ, he is declared guilty of sin before God. This declaration of sin by God upon the sinner makes the person an enemy of God (Romans 5:10). The death of Christ upon the cross enables man to enter into a relationship with God where God declares the sinner not guilty of sin. The believing sinner, while still sinful, is reconciled with God and comes into a new standing with God (Romans 5:11).

Second, the believer is sanctified before God (1 Corinthians 1:2). To be sanctified means to be made righteous before God. It is the idea that since I have been declared righteous (i.e., justified), I am also made righteous (i.e. sanctification). You see, once a person becomes a Christian, God begins a work in him, enabling him to become more like Christ (Romans 8:29). It is God's will that each believer grow and become more and more like Christ (1 Thessalonians 4:3). God's role in the sanctification process is evident from Philippians 1:6, "…He (God) who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

Personally, I do not see the word "surrendering" used when it comes to the salvation process. I see a similar idea with that of commitment, however. When I was declared justified before God, I realized that I was a sinner in need of Christ's provision of salvation. I made a commitment to trust Christ for the forgiveness of sin. I suppose one could use the word surrender in place of commitment. This one commitment, however, was just the first of a series of personal commitments I have made to God.

Because I am also sanctified, God is at work in me. Let me give you a personal illustration of God working righteousness in me. When I first became a believer, I drank alcohol on a regular basis, just like I did as an unbeliever. God was at work in me producing an ongoing righteousness and within a few months, I realized that my addictive behavior was not pleasing to God. So I quit drinking - just like that. I did not need 12 steps, extensive counseling, or other means to quit drinking. God was working in my life, I saw what He was doing, and I made a commitment to please Him in this particular area. All throughout my Christian life over time, I have made many different commitments to God. Again, if you would like to use "surrender," that is fine.

In summation, surrendering to God is essential for salvation, but it is not a one-time decision. Making commitments to God is an ongoing process throughout the Christian life, "For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do" (Ephesians 2:10).”

I hope you receive truth from the article. Perhaps it will take some time to let these words sink in. You may even have a difference of opinion than the writer…that’s okay. Spend time with God seeking His wisdom, and He will gladly show you what He wants you to know.

Good Evening Beauties!

The distractions and attacks were many and mighty this morning, so thank you for your patience to come back tonight for a word of encouragement on your journey. I’m happy to report the assault on my bank account is now corrected and all is well, so let’s focus on our new attribute - Righteous.

I have found this one difficult to believe. Why? Because the ways of God are not the same as our ways on earth. He does not demand us to be “good enough” or to EARN His Righteousness. I see beautiful Christian women everyday still trying to do enough and be good enough to earn their right standing with God. Our efforts are futile - we can never do enough or be good enough.

Thank you God for sending Jesus! Through Him, we are made righteous. Through His atoning sacrifice on the cross, He has given us right standing with God. It’s a pure gift, and nothing to be earned. You may already know this truth in your mind, but do you believe it in your heart? What are the ways you’re still trying to earn God’s approval? Selah.

God’s word confirms, “But now God has shown us a different way to heaven—not by “being good enough” and trying to keep his laws, but by a new way (though not new, really, for the Scriptures told about it long ago). Now God says he will accept and acquit us—declare us “not guilty”—if we trust Jesus Christ to take away our sins. And we all can be saved in this same way, by coming to Christ, no matter who we are or what we have been like.” Romans 3:22 The Living Bible

I find believing in my righteousness to be a paradox - it’s so simple, and yet so tough to get my mind around. On one hand, it’s easy because I have only to receive Jesus’ gift and on the other, it’s hard not trying to gain my righteousness by working for it. Does that make sense? Do you feel the same way? Selah.

How do we respond to such an amazing gift? We worship!

In other words, just as condemnation came upon all people through one transgression, so through one righteous act of Jesus’ sacrifice, the perfect righteousness that makes us right with God and leads us to a victorious life is now available to all.
